May 4, 2016

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is offering complimentary meeting and office productivity space to members of the Fort McMurray business community displaced by wildfires in the Wood Buffalo Region.

Those wishing to access this infrastructure to maintain connections during this critical time are invited to visit our World Trade Centre Edmonton website for further details on the available office spaces and amenities.

To book space in this facility, please contact us directly via email at reception@edmontonchamber.com or via telephone at 780.426.4620.

"It is difficult for anyone to understand what will be required, given that this is an ongoing activity," stresses Edmonton Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Janet M. Riopel. "But clear communications of available resources, ways to help, and ways to help maintain business continuity will form our focus. The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is ready to help and we encourage our members to do so as well via the appropriate channels."

How Edmonton Chamber of Commerce Members Can Help

For members of the Edmonton business community wanting to directly help those impacted by the fire in Fort McMurray and the surrounding Wood Buffalo Region, City of Edmonton Fire Chief Ken Block has announced as of Wednesday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. (MST) that donations of food and goods are not required at this time, and those wishing to help are advised to do so via the Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal webpage administered by the Canadian Red Cross. Immediate donations can also be made by TEXTING "RedCross" to 30333.

Finally, we wish to advise Edmonton Chamber of Commerce members that all proceeds from ticket sales of our Spring Business Mixer event on Tuesday, June 7th, will be donated to the Red Cross Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal fund.
