DR IBRAHIM - WORLD OUTSTANDING BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Malaysia's growing prominence in the global Business Events industry has received further international recognition with Dato' Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), being conferred the Special Excellence Award 2026: World Outstanding Business Leadership Excellence Award by the World Business Chamber (WBC), in recognition of his longstanding contributions to strengthening international business collaboration and advancing Malaysia's Business Events industry.

The award was presented by His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Governor of Melaka, as the Guest of Honour during the Inaugural Dinner of the WBC held at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, last month, on 30th July 2026. 

YABhg. Tun Dato' Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, Honorary Patron of KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific (KSI), Former Chief Justice of Malaysia and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts, Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, President of WBC, and many others also attended the award night. 

The WBC is a global platform dedicated to promoting responsible business practices, strategic collaboration and sustainable development. Supported by KSI as its Secretariat, WBC brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and academia from across the world to foster international partnerships and advance sustainable economic growth.

Under Dato’ Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim’s leadership, WTCKL has evolved into one of the region's leading convention and exhibition venues. Earlier this year, WTCKL was awarded the ASEAN Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Venue Award in the Exhibition Venue category for the 2026-2028 term in Cebu, Philippines, reaffirming its excellence as a convention and exhibition venue that meets ASEAN tourism standards.

As a Board Director of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) headquartered in New York, United States, he has also played a pivotal role in strengthening WTCKL’s engagement with a network of more than 300 World Trade Centers across nearly 100 countries and territories. Beyond his leadership in the business sector, Dato’ Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim also contributes his expertise through various appointments in corporate governance, higher education and healthcare institutions, reflecting his broader commitment to organisational excellence and talent development.
