Cooperation between Taiwan and Russia

The 6th Russia-Taiwan Business Forum was held in Moscow, Russia on October 16, 2017. Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI of Russia) and Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) have been working together for 14 years since 2003. The meeting enables the participants of both sides to renew friendship, develop new business opportunities, and encourage delegates from both sides to exchange views and share valuable information.

The Taiwan delegation, consisting of 13 members representing private enterprises, was headed by Mr. Robert Ou Young, Vice Chairman, Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA).

The Russian delegation, consisting of 30 members representing public and private enterprises, relevant trade promotion agencies, was headed by Mr. Georgy Petrov, Co-Chairman of the Business Forum and Counselor to the President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Vladimir Padalko, Vice President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, greeted the participants of the 6th Russia-Taiwan Business Forum on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Both delegations expressed their great appreciation for the preparations made by the CIECA, Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. They shared the profound belief that the meeting will contribute significantly to the further expansion of economic and trade relations between Russia and Taiwan.

The 6th Russia-Taiwan Business Forum dealt primarily with advancements of and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of “Food”, “Food & Pharmaceutical Machinery Machine”, and “ICT.” During the Business Forum, Mr. Robert Ou Young, Vice Chairman, CIECA (also Chairman of ANKO Food Machine Co., Ltd.) gave a presentation on “The Development and Competitive Advantages of Taiwan Food Machinery and the experience of the cooperation between Taiwan and Russia.” Mr. Eugene Chen, Chairman, Printec International Corp. made a presentation on “Overview of the economic development and Collaboration Opportunities between Taiwan and Russia.”

The Russian Delegates, Mr. Petr Permyakov, Deputy Director General of Special economic zone "Dubna" gave a presentation on opportunities for foreign investors in special economic zone "Dubna", Mr. Alexey Savrasov, Head of the Trade Analytics Section, WTC Moscow gave presented the World Trade Center business facilities and services in regards to international cooperation development, Ms. Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of Board of Directors, Global Rus Trade, presented opportunities of e-commerce cooperation for Russian and Taiwan SMEs.

In the afternoon, networking sessions enabled participants from both sides to exchange views and discuss possibilities of cooperation.

Both delegations believed that the success of the 6th Russia-Taiwan Business Forum would pave the way for further strengthening and expanding existing business ties between Russia and Taiwan.

The venue of the 7th Russia-Taiwan Business Forum will be decided by both sides in 2018.
