Conference “India and Europe"

Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On Monday, March 17, 2025, a conference organized by the Brittany Committee of Foreign Trade Advisors, the Maison de l’Europe of Rennes and Haute Bretagne, the WTC Rennes Bretagne, and Rennes School of Business offered a rich exchange on the future prospects of relations between India, France, and the European Union.

The event began with welcome remarks from Hervé LANOE, President of WTC Rennes Bretagne; Michel DORIN, President of Maison de l’Europe; Jordane PEDRON, Director of Corporate Relations at Rennes School of Business; and Jean-Christophe PIOT, President of the Brittany Committee of Foreign Trade Advisors.

Many thanks to our speakers:

  • Thierry BERTHELOT, Diplomatic Advisor at the Prefecture of the Brittany Region, shared his experience as Consul General of France in Bangalore, highlighting India’s diplomatic and economic challenges and spotlighting technological hubs such as Bangalore and Hyderabad. Planned initiatives for 2026 to strengthen collaboration between France and India were also discussed.
  • Jean-Charles THUARD, Senior Advisor at SAS Partners Corporate Advisors, addressed the challenges of entering the Indian market and the importance of a local approach, while emphasizing the key role of the CCEF network in supporting French companies.
  • Finally, Pinal PATEL, Kunica AGARWAL, and Arwa ELECTRICWALA, Indian students at Rennes School of Business, shared their experience in France and their ambitions to contribute to India’s development.

The conference was moderated by Nicholas Beaty, Manager of WTC Rennes Bretagne.

This evening was a special opportunity to discuss future cooperation prospects and strengthen ties between the European Union and India.
