Canada: Cara-a-cara with Latin America in Bogota

Nov 25, 2016

WINNIPEG, CANADA - The WTC Winnipeg was invited to join the WTC Latin American regional meeting on November 17th in Bogota Colombia. It was a great opportunity to advance the efforts that the WTC Winnipeg has been developing to bring Canadian and Latin American business people closer in trade. Canada has free trade agreements with seven Latin American countries and is currently negotiating four others in addition to CARICOM (Caribbean bloc).

The conversations in Bogota gave a boost to the already strong collaboration between the WTC Winnipeg and the WTC organizations in Latin America, a collaboration that started at Centrallia 2016.

“Now more than ever, it’s time for Canada and Latin America to get together to create a win-win approach to trade to build an even stronger economic connection.” said Alberto Velasco, Trade Development Manager.
