BINH DUONG LAUNCHES NEW ECO-INDUSTRIAL PARKS

May 19, 2025

On May 17, Binh Duong Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for two major industrial parks: the 700-hectare Cay Truong Industrial Park and the second phase of the Bau Bang Expansion Industrial Park, which spans 380 hectares. The province also announced the establishment of the Binh Duong Centralized Information Technology Zone. These developments mark a strategic shift toward a new generation of smart, green, and sustainable industrial ecosystems.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, and other provincial leaders, along with diplomatic and international representatives and major businesses.

As the leading developer, Becamex IDC is positioning these projects as models of next-generation industrial parks that integrate industry, urban living, and smart services. The approach focuses on digital infrastructure, clean and renewable energy, sustainable water use, and low-carbon operations — aligning with global standards and investor expectations.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh commended Binh Duong and Becamex IDC for pioneering the development of smart, ecological, and sustainable industrial parks. He highlighted this model as exemplary for other provinces, contributing to Vietnam's green and sustainable economic goals.

Becamex IDC is actively deploying rooftop solar power systems, solar farms, and energy storage solutions to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The company is also upgrading centralized wastewater treatment facilities to support water reuse in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors and microelectronics. Moreover, it is promoting industrial symbiosis by encouraging businesses within its parks to share resources, reuse by-products, and adopt cleaner production methods.

As part of its green commitment, Becamex has launched a large-scale tree planting and restoration initiative, aiming to plant one million trees between 2024 and 2025. Beyond Binh Duong, it is also replicating the eco-industrial park model in provinces such as Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria–Vung Tau with renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and gas power.

The province is working with the World Bank and other international organizations to develop a feasibility study for applying international EIP 2.0 standards in the Bau Bang area — focusing on water reuse, energy sustainability, and circular industrial systems.

Mr. Vo Van Minh – Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the Binh Duong People's Committee, the groundbreaking of smart eco-industrial parks and the formation of the centralized IT zone mark a major milestone in the province’s shift toward an integrated industrial–urban–smart service model. This ecosystem is expected to attract strategic investors, strengthen economic resilience, and enhance Binh Duong’s global competitiveness.

Provincial leaders have pledged to work closely with Becamex IDC and investors to accelerate administrative procedures and complete infrastructure, ensuring favorable conditions for implementation and long-term development.
