BECAMEX & IFC (WB) PARNER TO DEVELOP ESG PLATFORM

Jul 18, 2025

On July 16, 2025, at the Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Becamex Group (WTC Binh Duong New City’s parent company) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, officially signed a cooperation agreement to implement the Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) assessment program across industrial-urban areas developed by Becamex and VSIP.

Strengthening Vietnam’s Sustainable Industrial Development

This strategic move marks a continuation of the partnership between Becamex Group and the World Bank Group since 2022, during which both parties conducted technical support programs for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to develop Vietnam’s first EIP. The new agreement expands the scale, moves pilot models closer to global standards, and lays a vital foundation for accessing green finance sources.

Through the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP), IFC will support Becamex in conducting preliminary assessments for up to five industrial parks following international EIP certification frameworks. These assessments will help identify strengths, gaps, and improvement opportunities related to governance, environmental, social, and economic performance—forming the basis for future technical planning, operational improvement, and investment mobilization.
