APAC WTCA Members Celebrate 23rd WTCA Day

Jun 20, 2025

To celebrate the 23rd anniversary of WTCA Day (June 12), the WTCA Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) hosted the “2025 WTCA Day Celebration Special – Asia Pacific: Sustainability and WTC Facility Development” webinar on June 18. The program attracted 55 attendees representing 27 World Trade Center businesses across the region.

The future of APAC cities is increasingly shaped by sustainable real estate development to address challenges like climate change, resource scarcity, and rapid urbanization. By integrating energy-efficient technologies, green building practices, and sustainable urban planning, developers can create resilient, livable, and environmentally responsible communities. World Trade Center complexes and facilities in the region are taking the lead in many fronts. This approach ensures that urban growth is both economically prosperous and socially equitable, paving the way for cities that thrive in harmony with the environment.

The 2025 WTCA Day webinar features a keynote speech delivered by Dr. ChandrashekarHariharan, Chairman, Indian Green Building Council (Bengaluru Chapter) on sustainable real estate development shaping the future of APAC cities. In the panel discussion moderated by Ms. Pamela Pascual, Chairman and CEO of WTC Metro Manila, WTC executives from WTC AMTZ, WTC Taipei, WTC Thane and China WTC (Beijing) shared their perspectives and practices on this important development and the role of WTC network.

Mr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of WTC Mumbai provided an update and extend a warm invitation for all regional Members to attend the upcoming 2025 WTCA Asia Pacific Conference in Mumbai from August 20 to 22.

About WTCA Day

In 2002, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed June 12 to be "WTCA Day," which was subsequently acknowledged by the office of the Secretary General of the United Nations, to recognize the WTCA and its network of WTC businesses for encouraging and facilitating trade, promoting economic development and fostering peace.
