Algiers International Arbitration Conference

The World Trade Center Algiers (WTCA) in partnership with the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) organized an international Conference on the 4th and 5th of February in Algiers under the theme of “Construction Contracts : From Execution the Damage Valuation”

On this occasion, a verity of high level experts on international arbitration were gathered in order to establish a list of recommendations for best practices when it comes to negotiating contracts in this globalized world .
More than 200 delegates have taken part to this two days conference , and have been able to exchange and share their concerns with experts from France, Tunisia, Switzerland, and many other countries .


Mr. Ahmed Tibaoui, CEO of the World Trade Center Algiers said "the purpose of this meeting is to generate more awareness on the importance of carefully shoosing the content of a contracts and toalways be assisted by specialised lawyers" he added :"In our country there are many infrastructure projects and therefore a high level of litigation risks, hence the theme chosen today, that of construction contract," .

This event saw the participation of Mr. Mohamed Chemloul who is the President of the Algerian Arbitration Chamber for the ICC as well as Mr. Sami Houerbi, director of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) , Professor Ahmed Mahiou who has been able to build an international reputation on Commercial Contracts and was for a while a Judge at the International Court Of Justice and Mr. Ali Haroun the highly regarded law expert in Algeria and Historical hero of the Algerian Revolution .

The Conference ended with a fantastic gala Diner animated by the Chorus of the Opera of Algiers .
