Agriculture and Trade Development Global Summit

On July 10, the 2019 Agriculture and Trade Development Global Summit and World Trade Center Exhibition opened in Beijing, China World Trade Center.

Scott Ferguson, CEO of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), Quan Shunji, Executive Chairman of China-Asia Economic Development Association, Zhang Hongshan, Board Member of the World Trade Centers Association and Chairman of the Agriculture Member Advisory Council (AgMAC) of the World Trade Centers Association, together with representatives from other World Trade Centers and their business delegates shared and exchanged views on how to make use of the WTCA platform to open up the global trade network and promote regional and global economic and trade development under the global economic integration.

The Summit is the first global forum held since the establishment of the Agriculture Member Advisory Council. Aimed for "promoting global trade development and world peace", the Summit brings together global resources and breaks down barriers for in-depth exchanges and cooperation in regional and international trade, finance, science and technology.

WTC Harbin, which has visited more than 40 World Trade Centers worldwide, signed strategic cooperation agreements with eight World Trade Centers, including Beijing, Tianjin, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Nanning, Jinzhong and Dandong, to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in future. Sydney, Taiwan, Shenyang and other World Trade Centers have also expressed their intention to cooperate in the fields of agricultural science and technology, agricultural deep processing and enterprise network services.

In recognition of their roles in promoting the development of agriculture and trade, the Summit also awarded special contribution awards to 11 members of the World Trade Centers, including WTC Harbin.

The AgMAC has attracted 57 members based on the common goal. During this Summit, more WTCA members expressed their willingness to join the AgMAC.

For the future work of AgMAC, Mr. Zhang Hongshan said: "We look forward to more members joining us to promote global trade development in a larger area, and hope to make greater contributions to the promotion of China's and Global trade development in the future."

The World Trade Centers Exhibition also opened at the same time. WTCA member image exhibition, business matchmaking and other business activities were carried out during the Summit.
