TAIPEI, TAIWAN - The 2015 Taiwan Trade Fair in Shanghai, cohosted by the Shanghai Municipal Government and the World Trade Center Taipei, wrapped up successfully on May 2nd.

The four-day exhibition offered an effective platform for Taiwanese enterprises to display MIT products and to tap into fresh business opportunity. The event attracted major purchasing agents in the eastern China market and generated nearly US$166 million in business. More than 580 meetings had been held with some 88 buyers taking part in the event. The fair was well received among the local visitors. “Taiwan is not only good at gourmet foods, it also makes wonderful and innovative products,” said one visitor.

Meanwhile, the 2015 Taiwan Excellence Pavilion was the highlight of the event. This year the theme of the pavilion centered on “Happy Life”. The pavilion presented a total of 73 brands and 137 products that have been awarded by Taiwan Excellence, the Golden Pin, iF, and Good Design. The lineup included cutting-edge products that attracted plenty of interested buyers, such as the stone paper and Mozbii, the world’s first color picking stylus designed for kids.

The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion marketed Taiwan’s outstanding brands, introduced the excellent products from Taiwan to the world, and served as an intermediary platform between Taiwanese suppliers and overseas buyers. Through the pavilion, the buyers were able to experience the products hands-on and receive further information from the suppliers.

Another main attraction of the fair was the Taiwan Agriculture Pavilion, which showcased a 1:1 scale model of the famous Queen’s Head, the native orchid species “Taiwan Ama”, and a special pineapple lamp that captivated the visitors.

Shanghai, an international city and a premier commercial and financial center in Mainland China, is the perfect venue for showcasing Taiwan’s excellent products to visitors from all over the world. The Taiwan Trade Fair is an important platform for the exhibitors to display their MIT products and to network with the local agents in the market.
