2021 Roundtable of Silk Road Int’l Chambers

As a part of the 5th Silk Road International Expo, the 2021 Roundtable Conference of Silk Road Int’l Chambers of Commerce (Xi’an) was held on May 12, 2021. Themed “To Deepen Argicultural Cooperation and Share Development Opportunities”, the meeting gathered 200 delegates from home and abroad, including 51 trade promotion organizations, embassies and consulates, and experts on agriculture from 32 countries and regions.

The Roundtable was sponsored by CCPIT national council and Shaanxi Municipal government, and co-hosted by China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and CCPIT Shaanxi (licence holder of WTC Xi’an), among others.

Mr. Weihua WANG, Deputy Chair of the CPPCC Shaanxi branch addressed the conference. He introduced how the province has been actively invoved in the Belt & Road Initiative and expanded its opening up to the world. He also expressed his hope for the chambers and associations to align their development strategies, expand cooperation areas and upgrade cooperation under the principle of mutual trust and mutual benefit, so as to bring more benefits to the people of all countries along the Belt & Rod routes.

Mr. Jianlong Yu, Secreraty General of CCPIT and CCOIC highlighted the important roles played by the chambers and associations in connecting business communities and promoting trade and investment. He advised them to establish more trade promotion platforms, facilitate policy coordination among governments on behalf of the business communities and keep optimizing services.

Madam Yuhong Ma, Chair of CCPIT Shaanxi branch, and Mr. Yunlin Wang, CPC Secretary of CCPIT Shaanxi branch, also proposed suggestions to jointly build multi-lateral and bi-lateral cooperation systems among countries and regions to deepen collaboration in agri technologies and products.
