14th World Business Leaders Roundtable

The 14th World Business Leaders Roundtable (BLR) reached a complete success. It was one of the supporting events of CIFIT 2015 and the second event of the Belt and Road Series Events organised by CCPIT Xiamen. Wang Jinzhen, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, and Huang Wenhui, Vice Mayor of Xiamen attended the Roundtable and delivered opening addresses, fully recognized the significance and right timing of the event for the cross-border e-commerce industry.
Co-organised by CCPIT and WTCA, the 14th World Business Leaders Roundtable is the second event of CCPIT Xiamen’s the B&R Series Events, followed by the Go Africa Roundtable. This year’s BLR continue to focus on the cross-border e-commerce in the context of the B&R initiative. Several breakthroughs are achieved this year.
First, wider range of media coverage; This year, CCPIT Xiamen cooperate with such new media as sina.com, and Xiamen Daily and webcast live via Microblog and Wechat. Participants posted real-time questions online and the speakers answered to the selected questions. Besides, over 30 media, national media like CCTV included, covered the event.
Second, promote multilateral dialogue through the WTCA network. WTC Xiamen has just established earlier this year. WTCA co-organised the 14th BLR with over 50 WTC representatives from US, Berlin, Jordan, Qatar, Cyprus, etc. attended the Roundtable. Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl, President of WTCA spoke on the Roundtable, saying that cross-border e-commerce would develop to an essential tool in the future and it was important to standardize the process and make it more convenient. The WTCA delegation also conducted effective matchmaking talks with local enterprises the same afternoon.
Third, more international; this year’s BLR invited participants and speakers from over 10 countries and regions, including US, UK, Germany, Australia, India, Thailand, etc. WTCA also invited representatives from Middle-East and North America, making it a more international event.
Fourth, the 14th BLR invited both domestic and overseas e-commerce giants to deliver professional keynote speeches, including Dr. Michael Heller, member of the OTTO management board, Mr. Jone Yu, Vice President of Alibaba Group, Mr. Charlie Lee, VP of Amazon China, Mr. Yong Bai, Head of Channel Sales of Google Greater China Region, Mr. Vincent Golebiowski, CFO of Coach Greater China, etc. Other high-level guests such as Mr. Stephen Phillips, Chief Executive of CBBC, Mr. Deepak Bagla, managing director & CEO of Invest India, etc. also attended the Roundtable.
Fifth, the theme of the event is timely and forward looking.
Finally, organised the matchmaking talks in the same afternoon, and provided local enterprises with a chance to face-to-face talk with e-commerce giants and famous brands such as Amazon, Google, Paypal, Otto, Alibaba, Globalegrow, Lazada, St-future, LYDC, Joseph Joseph, Ever Thames, etc.
