After 70 years, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Italy, Mr. Graziano Delrio, has signed the Implementing Decree in Trieste, which allows the customs free zones in the city.

The Implementation Decree acknowledges the peculiar status of Free Port of Trieste, as unique benefit at National and European level, since the Peace Treaty of 1947, the MoU of London dated 1954, other National Decrees of 1955, 1959 and the Port Law of 1984.

The Port Authority, following the Decree, will be able to assign, change and enlarge the Customs Free Zones to meet the needs of international operators including storage, manipulation, transformation and logistic by identifying specific areas to be devoted to such activities.

It can only be positive for the WTCs Network, which has the aim to foster international trade.
