The WTC Trieste proudly celebrates the 100th anniversary of its License Holder, Samer & Co. Shipping S.p.A. (Samer).

Headquartered since 1919 in Trieste, (Italy), Samer is a Ship Agent, Port Terminal Operator, International Freight Forwarder, Lloyd’s of London Agent and P&I Correspondent. The company has owned subsidiaries in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro and Mongolia.

Since 1987, Samer & Co. Shipping has been operating what has become the most important Sea Highway of the Mediterranean Sea, connecting Turkey to Europe via Trieste. With its unique multimodality model, it operates by sea, rail, air and road for an overall movement of 200,000+ trucks and containers every year.

Samer owns port terminals and warehouses inside the Port of Trieste, and specializes in Ro-Ro shipments, heavy lifts, commodity handling and reefer cargoes, providing a full-service portfolio including loading/unloading, stuffing and warehousing.

The milestone anniversary will be marked with informative and celebratory events throughout the year. The first event took place with the presentation of “Con Trieste sulla Prora” or “With Trieste above the Bow", a literary collection of images and data on the 83 vessels named Trieste that made history since 1728.
