Feb 10, 2017

TORONTO, CANADA - Save the Date! May 10-11, 2017 – Smart Cities Summit and Trade Mission

Where?
World Trade Centre Toronto - First Canadian Place, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Why?
• Doing more with less and delivering services in the “smartest” way possible, while improving the quality of life for all citizens of Toronto
• A Smart City uses technology to optimize resources and enhance quality and performance of urban services, increase economic competitiveness and engage its citizens more effectively.
• A smarter city develops and implements innovative policies and technologies to ensure that these benefits are realized in a manner unique and consistent with its core values of economic, social and environmental vitality.

What?
Join global leaders and influencers in Smart Cities, government regulators and city-builders for a Smart Cities Summit and Trade Mission, May 10-11. Presented by the Toronto Region Board of Trade (World Trade Centre Toronto)
“For a city to become smart, it must adopt a culture of data”
World Council on City Data, President & CEO, Dr. Patricia McCarney

A culture of data represents a significant opportunity for ICT and digital media businesses with the potential to support many sectors including:
• Transportation
• Energy and Climate Change
• Public Health
• Waste Management
• Water Management
Internationally renowned speakers, panel discussion and breakout sessions will address the challenges and opportunities presented by the opportunity to provide Smart Services as the world moves towards Smart Cities. Discussions will include key lessons from Smart City winners in Glasgow, UK and Columbus, OH and a keynote address from Barcelona, San Diego or San Francisco.
World Trade Centre Toronto is developing an additional day of ICT and digital media networking, information exchange and B2B business meetings exclusively for clients of our international World Trade Centers and Chamber of Commerce partners around the world.

What Next?
Speakers are being developed. Do you have an international Smart Cities story that needs to be told? Let us know and we will add you to the mission agenda (time permitting).
Delegates are being determined. Can you put together a group of 5 to 10 (or more!) local businesses with interest in services needed by Smart Cities? Work with us to develop an attendee list with a revenue-sharing system for delegate fees.
A detailed agenda will be available next month.
Your delegates will come to Toronto, enjoy preferred rates at a premium downtown hotel, attend the Summit, have a program tailored to their needs and interests and can take advantage of the exceptional points of interest Toronto and the surrounding area offers.
They will gain insights into Smart Cities developments around the world, develop positive business relationships, attract investment into their innovative ideas or services and gain customers.
