Oct 28, 2016

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - The HSD Campus International Centre was officially opened today in the World Trade Center The Hague by Ingrid van Engelshoven, The Hague’s Deputy Mayor and Alderman for Knowledge Economy, International Affairs, Youth and Education.

In the opening ceremony, the Deputy Mayor handed over the name board to Richard Franken, The Hague Security Delta’s Executive Director. The expansion of the current HSD Campus is a joint initiative of The Hague Security Delta (HSD), WTC The Hague, and the Municipality of The Hague. The International Centre offers space to the increasing number of international organizations in the ‘security’ domain that intend to move to the HSD Campus. Once on the Campus, they can collaborate with the companies, governments, and knowledge institutions associated with the HSD national security cluster. The HSD Campus International Centre is already a great success. Two thirds of the space has already been rented before the official opening and there is already talk about further expansion.

Deputy Mayor Ingrid van Engelshoven says, “The Hague Security Delta’s strength is its collaboration with businesses, governments, and knowledge institutions in the area of digital security. The WTC gives this collaboration even more space to grow.” Richard Franken, Executive Director HSD, believes that because WTC The Hague houses a large number of international companies, it is natural to locate the HSD Campus International Centre here. “The Hague Security Delta is pleased that the HSD Campus has expanded to include the International Centre; this stimulates international cooperation between companies in the security cluster. With the HSD Campus International Centre around the corner, WTC The Hague is the perfect location for international security organizations that wish to establish themselves in the Netherlands.”

The Netherlands is known for its ‘state of the art’ digital infrastructure and well-developed logistical functions. The country is known as the 'Digital Gateway to Europe’. The Hague Security Delta strengthens the Netherlands’ reputation, making it the 'Secure Digital Gateway to Europe'. In cooperation with more than 250 partners, including the Municipality of The Hague and Innovation Quarter, the HSD security cluster creates opportunities for more international business and international collaboration in the field of ‘security’. The heart of the organization is the HSD Campus, the national innovation center for security in The Hague. More than 40 organizations have already located here.

The World Trade Center The Hague is the central meeting place for regional and international companies.
