2019 Taipei Cycle Expands to Nangang’s Exhibition Center Hall 2
Along with the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show, the Events will Feature the Participation of 4,600 Booths

As one of the most important international bicycle shows, the 32nd Taipei Cycle will take place from March 27-30, as it continues to promote the development of smart cycling. In cooperation with Nangang’s Exhibition Center, this year Taipei Cycle will accommodate approximately 1,115 domestic and foreign companies expecting to set up 3,250 booths. Along with the concurrently held Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO), the exhibitions are expected to host 4,600 booths, making this event the largest of its kind in Asia.

In view of the anticipated opening of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2, starting from 2019, the event organizer, Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), will build Hall 2 a bicycle component themed show hall. The exhibition will include the participation of KENDA, KMC International, Novatec and other important companies within the bicycle-component manufacturing industry. A total of 607 manufacturers will use 1,950 booths. The entire exhibition will showcase the strong development of the bicycle components industry in Taiwan. 

According to statistics sourced from the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance, the total export volume of Taiwanese electric bicycles for 2018 was of 283,100 units, representing a 375 million USD figure in sales. Compared to 2017, both volume and revenue increased by more than 50%. In response to the growing popularity of electric bicycles, in 2019 Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 will host an electrical-systems pavilion dedicated to electric bicycles. Lithium batteries, charging devices, and electric control systems are some of the topics to be presented. This area will count with the participation of industry-leading companies, including Taiwan EV Supply Chain, Honlin Heavy Industries, Hyena Inc., MPF Drive and AICOTECH. A total of 50 manufacturers will be showcasing their products in 110 booths. At the same time, participants will witness how future smart applications will be integrated within diverse fields. In 2019 the “TAIPEI CYCLE+” area will be exploring cross-industry topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart wearable devices. BRYTON Inc, BIKECOMM, ALATECH, WinsTouch and other companies will be participating. It is expected that cross-industrial cooperation between Taiwan’s bicycle and ICT industries will incentive the development of smart riding innovations in the future.

One day before the exhibition, on March 26, the third DEMO DAY will be held. The event will take place at Taipei’s City Neihu District Recreational Park which is only a 10-minute ride away from the exhibition halls. The park’s green areas and ramps make it perfect for the buyers and bikers to fully test the products. The venue has also set up smart and indoor riding equipment for participants to experience. For March 28-29, the TAIPEI CYCLE FORUM will count with the participation of the Netherlands’ Utretch City Mayor Jan van Zen, USA’s Bike New York Director of Education Rich Conroy, Taiwan’s Cycling Life Style Foundation CEO Vicky Liu, Germany’s Mas. Design Director Mark Sanders, Pedelec Adventures’ CEO Susanne Brusch and other high-ranking personalities. The forum will explore topics such as bicycle design, cycling culture, electric bicycles and future urban plans for the incentive of cycling activities. The show will also host a cycling lifestyle salon, where activities such as film appreciation, entrepreneurial sharing, and life style and cycling adventures will be carried out. The exhibition welcomes everyone interested in these topics to join!

The exhibitions will be initially open for professionals only, but on March 29-30, the general public is welcome with admission fees. Registration for the show events will open in February.
