TAIPEI, TAIWAN – The HALAL TAIWAN expo is set to shine at the Taipei International Food Show (FOOD TAIPEI), one of the top food industry events in Asia. The 27th edition of FOOD TAIPEI will open from June 21-24, 2017.

It will be the 8th consecutive showing of HALAL TAIWAN at FOOD TAIPEI. In addition to featuring Halal foods, the expo will showcase a huge variety of Halal products for the Muslim lifestyle, including healthcare equipment and everyday products, as well as beauty and cosmetic supplies.

The global Halal market has a consumer base of over 1.6 billion people, and it is one of fastest growing markets in the world. Many of the growth-leading economies in the Halal market are Taiwan's closest trading partners in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei. Currently, there are over 400 Halal certified manufacturers based in Taiwan.

Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) recently established the Taiwan Halal Center (THC) as part of its efforts to support the New Southbound Policy aimed at boosting Taiwan's trade with the key economies of South and Southeast Asia as well as Oceania. One of the main goals of the center is to create a friendly environment for the Muslim community in Taiwan and promote the Taiwan Halal industry ecosystem. The THC will be providing export enterprises with various market information, assistance in obtaining Halal certifications, and opportunities to visit the world's major Halal markets.

FOOD TAIPEI is an industry extravaganza that showcases everything from food products and food-related technologies to food processing equipment, packaging machinery and catering solutions. The show has long been an important platform for Taiwanese manufacturers to showcase their innovations to the world. The 2017 FOOD TAIPEI will gather a record number of 1,670 exhibitors across 4,000 booths.
