WTC SP ENERGY FORUM PROMOTES "ZAYED ENERGY PRIZE"

On Friday, June 16th, the World Trade Center São Paulo Business Club organized its Energy Forum and had the honor to receive 5 speakers, being 3 from the public sector; Mr. Carlos Eduardo Braga, Minister of Energy, Mr. Romeu Rufino, President of ANEEL, and Mr. João Carlos Meirelles, Secretary of Energy of the State of São Paulo; and 2 from the private sector, Mr. Rafael Paniagua President of ABB and Mr. Nelson Oliveira, President of Ecogen. As moderator, the President of Tradener, Mr. Walfrido Avila. 

Seizing the occasion, the WTC BC SP partnered with the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo in order to promote the Zayed Future Energy Prize (www.zayedfutureenergyprize.com) , through its General Consul speech, Mr. Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi, who gave the audience a clear idea of what the UAE is doing towards sustainable practices and renewable energy. He mainly focused on this important government initiative of prizing companies and individuals who have considerably influenced this sector’s development.

The Zayed Future Energy Prize, established in 2008 by the United Arab Emirates Government,
honours the vision of the late founding father and president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh
Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who championed environmental, social, and economic
sustainability.

The US$4 million annual award invites innovators from around the world to be part of a growing
community, committed to finding solutions that will meet the challenges of climate change,
energy security and the environment. The award celebrates significant achievements in
renewable energy and sustainability by recognizing, rewarding and inspiring some of the most
visionary and innovative leaders in these fields.
