May 27, 2014

ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - On 17 May 2014, the annual ‘FRED Job Fair’ took place in World Trade Center Rotterdam. FRED stands for Flinx Recruitment Expo Dutch Caribbean, and is a recruitment event with the primary objective to get professionals and students from the Dutch Caribbean currently residing in the Netherlands back to their native islands. The job fair intends to give the visitor a better picture of the career prospects that the islands in the Dutch Caribbean have to offer.

Mrs. Marvelyne Wiels, the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curacao, officially opened this year’s event. During the job fair job seekers and visitors were able to visit the booths of exhibitors PwC, Baker Tilly Dutch Caribbean, Kooyman, Ictual, Curaçao Drydock Company, Smith & Nephew of Curaçao, HBN Law, SOAB, BearingPoint Caribbean and Land Curacao. Representatives of participating organizations occupied the booths throughout the day. There was also the possibility to take part in a variety of activities taking place on this day, such as workshops.

WTC Rotterdam’s exhibition floor was divided into different sections. Depending on the location of the company or organization, the organization's exhibition booth was located in the Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten or BES-islands section. The job fair was very successful for the organizer Flinx and for the participants as well.
