WTC Pune Seminar on IFRS – A Global Perspective

PUNE, INDIA - World Trade Centre Pune and BDO India hosted a focused session on International-Financial-Reporting-Standards IFRS – Convergence – A Global Perspective at EON Free Zone Auditorium in Pune, India.

Mr. Andrew Buchanan, Global Head of IFRS at BDO IFR Advisory Ltd. from London UK gave a global perspective of IFRS to a distinguished audience of CFOs and audit leaders of corporates in Pune. Mr. Wayne Basford, IFRS Leader for BDO – Asia Pacific Region and Chairman of BDO Internationals IFRS, from Sydney, Australia spoke on technical aspects of IFRS including Financial Instruments, Revenue recognition, etc. Mr. Vishal Divadkar, Partner & Leader IFRS Advisory, BDO India from Gurgaon delved on First Time Adaptation and Challenges therein for Indian corporates. Mr. Deepak Rao, Partner – Assurance & IFRS Advisory, BDO India, Bengaluru clarified significant differences in IFRS from Indian GAAP.

Mr. Neelesh Khandelwal, Partner of BDO India welcomed the participants and gave a quick preview and versatile background of the esteemed international panelists. Mr. Nikhil Oswal proposed vote of thanks on behalf of WTC Pune.

In the recent past, WTC Pune joined hands with the City of Karlsruhe, Baden - Germany in hosting their Empowered Trade Delegation at Pune and signed an MoU for active co-operation in the fields of SMART Technologies encompassing ICT, e-mobility, SMART solutions and energy sectors. This is very relevant considering Pune is shortlisted to be the 2nd SMART CITY being developed by Government of India. MoU partners and WTCs across the globe will have a definitive role in augmenting resources and technology to the civic administration.
