WTC Pune events focus on International Trade

WTC Pune conducted a Roadshow on Innovative Approaches to do Business in USA by its Global Mentor Mr. Jagat Shah. He shared practical experiences and live case studies – success stories of Indians cracking the US market.

WTC Pune recently signed MoU with Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industries at Madurai during their International Agri and Food Products Expo titled Vibrant Tamil Nadu. WTC Pune also inked MoUs with Deccan Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Mentor-on-Road and Global Network in its quest for promoting international trade ecosystem.

Mr. D.K. Mohapatra, Addnl. Director General of Foreign Trade from Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, New Delhi outlined the Indian government initiatives in Logistics & Foreign Trade at an industry seminar held at WTC Pune. Event was jointly organised with Deccan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCIA) as Partner.

Mr. D.K. Mohapatra delved on how technology can be leveraged by Indian Industry to bring down the Logistics spend and improve its performance. Deccan Chambers of Commerce Industries & Agriculture (DCCIA) alongwith EXIM Chamber of Commerce and Allied Industries, Pune were co-hosts.

Mr. Prakash Dhoka, Chairman and Mr. H. P. Srivastava, VC of DCCIA were present. Mr. Pradeep Kale, the newly elected President of Pune Customs House Agents Association was felicitated. Mr. Mohapatra also individually met Pune industry thought leaders and sought their support in terms of suggestions and process improvements.

WTC Pune as part of Trade Education initiatives hosted its 3rd AEO Training Workshop supported by Pune Customs - Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs CBIC, Govt. of India and Directorate of International Customs (DIC) New Delhi.

Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation is an effort of the World Customs Organisation (WCO). 148 countries of the 180 members of WCO are signatories to the global AEO Program.

The empowered training team included Mr. Pawan Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Pune Customs alongwith Mr. Nitin Mishra from DIC Delhi

Participation of 83 individual participants representing 55 Pune corporates at this WTC Pune event was a talking point.

During the AEO Training interactive workshops accredited AEO corporate including GE, LG India, Honeywell, Armstrong, KSH Distriparks, Avignon Shipping, Samson Freight were felicitated by the dignitaries including Mr. Sagar Chordia, MD of WTC Pune.

Mr. Shrikant Kamat Partner of BDO India, Mr. Bhadresh Vyas Director of SKP India LLP, Ms. Swati Agarwal of EY alongwith Mr. Tukaram Gaikwad conducted a case study session.
