PUNE, INDIA - Ajeenkya DY Patil University - Punetied-up with WTC Pune for education and training initiatives. The MoU was signed during a Seminar organised by the WTC Navi Mumbai and WTC Pune in association with D Y Patil University School of Management at the Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University (ADYPU) Pune sprawling campus at Lohegaon. Mr. Ajeenkya DY Patil, Chancellor - ADYPU felt that this industry-academia initiative will help students understand nuances of World Trade and open new career vistas for them.
“ Stimulating Exports from Pune Region : Challenges, Opportunities and Action plan“ was the theme of the Seminar . It was attended by 200+ participants representing Pune industry – export trade community as well as academia – faculty and MBA students – from Pune - Navi Mumbai region.
Industry veteran Mr. P. C. Nambiar - Director Group EXIM of Serum Institute, who is also Director and Secretary; World Free Zone Organisation, Geneva; Chairman Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs - Ministry of Commerce & Industries highlighted the opportunities, challenges and incentives for exports and shared success stories.
Other speakers included Mr. Venkat Potturu - SCHMITZ Cargobul Gotha GmbH, Mr. Jayant Ghate - WTC Navi Mumbai, Mr. Nikhil Oswal-WTC Pune and Mr. Harshwadan Parikh, Mumbai.
Dr. Eknath Khedkar, Vice Chancellor alongwith Dr. R. Gopal Director of Ajeenkya DY Patil University addressed the seminar emphasising on industry and students to take a global view on initiatives in international trade and look at new opportunities.
The four tower WTC Pune now hosts a dedicated Business Center on campus providing on-demand serviced offices, virtual offices, meeting facilities, video conferencing and a broad range of business concierge services for multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises, and start-ups.
The Executive Centre (TEC) was recently inaugurated at Level 9, WTC Pune. Mr. Sagar Chordia - WTC Pune Director, along with Mr. Paul Salnikow – Founder Chairman & CEO, TEC were present with a host of other dignitaries. A self-sufficient infra for in-house WTC trade events and trade promotion offices is also on the anvil shortly. Mr. Sagar Chordia felt that the WTC Pune is nurturing Kharadi to become a Central Business District by attracting significant international footfall.
Recently The City of Pune ranked amongst the six global finalists for the World Smart City Awards 2016 in the City Category at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona (Spain).
