US Consul General Edgard Kagan at WTC Pune

WTC Pune hosted the US Consul General Mr. Edgard Kagan during his maiden visit to Pune. Mr. Kagan addressed a gathering of twenty seven plus American companies doing business in Pune and gave his perspective on “We Grow Trade”. 

He was accompanied by a high level team from the American Consulate, Mumbai including Mr. Gregory Taevs, Principal Commercial Officer, Mr. Eric Levy and Mr. Chris Crossman.

Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director – World Trade Center Pune welcomed Mr. Kagan and Team from US Consulate. It was an eventful day with Mr. Kagan, earlier doing the honours of inaugurating the WTC Pune Event Lounge in Tower 2.

The interactive session had participation from US Business interest group in Pune and corporate officials present from Cummins, John Deere, Mastercard, MWH, BDO, Finolex Cables, Ampacet, EY, Coupa, Halyard Healthcare, NALCO, Oriental Rubber, Western Union, etc. CG Mr. Kagan said that changing geo-political trade scenario was an ideal platform for improving the trade relations between USA and India. He emphasised that many US corporates were part of the Pune industry and its ecosystem. Companies like Cummins, Emerson, GE and John Deere have been instrumental in getting their vendor network on the Pune map. The consulate officials appreciated WTC Pune activities and events. They evinced great interest in the vast network at WTC and adjacent EON Free Trade Zone. The event was organised in co-ordination with the Pune chapter of US India Importer’s Council. Members of USIIC Pune participated in the event.

Mr. Prasanna Choudhary, President – Pune Chapter alongwith Mr. Robin Rosario, Secretary General and Ms. Sukhbir Kaur of US India Importers Council Secretariat represented USIIC, Mumbai - the Trade Promotion Partner Organisation of WTC Pune.
