US Commercial Service Interacts at WTC Pune

PUNE, INDIA - Mr. Patrick Santillo, Minister and Counselor for Commercial Affairs, American Embassy, New Delhi, along with Mr. Gregory Taevs, Principal Commercial Officer and Mr. P. Srinivas of US Consulate, Mumbai met Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director of World Trade Center Pune and team. 

They addressed the WTC Pune affiliates and network at a luncheon meeting in EON Free Zone, Pune. Mr. Patrick Santillo spoke on “Past and Future of the Indo-US relations” at World Trade Center Pune event.

Trade partner organizations USIIC and IACC members attended along with WTC Pune members. Mr. Prasanna Choudhury - President of USIIC Pune, Mr. Ashutosh Parasnis - Chairman of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Nikhil Oswal of WTC Pune, spoke on opportunities and challenges of Indo-US trade relations in context of Pune industry and trade. Success stories and opportunities in emerging areas like sports were the theme of the day.

Members of WTC Pune, US India Importers’ Council, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and American Business Corner from Pune had a speed business networking session co-ordinated by Mr. Robin Rosario and Ms. Sukhbir Kaur of USIIC India.

World Trade Center Pune joined its network to promote tourism to the U.S. and celebrate the “U.S.-India 2017 Travel and Tourism Partnership Year,” along with the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai, in association with BrandUSA, the Visit USA Committee (VUSACOM) and the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).     Mr. Thomas L. Vajda, Consul General of United States of America, U.S. Consulate General Mumbai alongwith Mr. Gregory Taevs and Ms. Ruma Chatterjee from the US Embassy made presentations to highlight growing tourism between India and US.

Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director WTC Pune felt that more international network and events was the way forward for Pune. 

WTC Pune recently signed an MoU with Infinity Exhibitions to participate and promote International Trade Exhibitions of mutual interest.  

WTC Pune is associated with the upcoming show on logistics - The Economic Times Global Logistics Show 2017 in Mumbai on 17 to 19th April 2017 and Demand Driven Planner training / global awards therein.

WTC Pune supported the celebrations of Holi – The Festival of Colours for Expats in Pune in March.
