Global Reciprocity MoUs by WTC Pune in 2016

PUNE, INDIA - Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director - World Trade Center Pune signed Reciprocity MoU with WTC Sao Paulo Brazil CEO Mr. Luciano Menezes at Sao Paulo during his visit to Brazil. He also had mutual trade related discussions – trade visits with WTC Sao Paulo team - Mr. Luciano Menezes, Mr. Rômulo Augusto and Ms. Adriana Ferreira. Mr. Sagar Chordia expressed delight at the facilities, activities and trade friendliness of WTC Sao Paulo.

Mr. Sagar Chordia opined that the two BRICS nations Brazil and India have a lot of mutual trade opportunities considering reciprocal strengths and industries. India-Brazil trade relationship is extensive and comprehensive covering every significant segment of interaction, seen at all three levels: bilateral, plurilateral in forum such as IBSA, BRICS, BASIC, G-20, and G-4 and in the larger multilateral arena such as the UN, WTO, UNESCO, WIPO, etc.

India and Brazil are signatories to many significant Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) like Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) and India – MERCOSUR FTA. Thus bilateral relations between India and Brazil have recently acquired the dimension of a strategic partnership considering India’s focus on Latin America as a Trade Partner. The WTC forum is one more avenue for increasing Trade. 

Mr. Luciano Menezes indicated that this conducive bilateral environment can spur lot of Trade and Investment between the two WTC locations – Sao Paulo and Pune.

World Trade Center Pune has put a lot of emphasis on creating a vibrant platform amongst BRICS nations. WTC Pune also signed comprehensive MoUs with WTC Quanzhou, China; WTC Shenzhen, China; WTC Fuzhou, China and WTC Zhenghou, China.

With 25 plus active MoU trade promotion partners across continents, key new partners now include WTC Lyon, France; WTC Twente, Netherlands and WTC Chittagong, Bangladesh alongwith The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry. 

WTC Pune is actively training Foreign Trade entities in Pune for availing benefits for imports - exports under Regional Trade Agreements and (RTAs)/ Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) by conducting events.
