LAUNCHES WTCA OPERATIONS IN NUEVO LAREDO MEXICO

With the presence of World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) executives, the Governor of the State of Tamaulipas, Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca, and the Mayor of Nuevo Laredo, Enrique Rivas Cuéllar, launched operations of the World Trade Center Nuevo Laredo.
In a ceremony held on April 4, 2019, state and local leaders received from the hands of Scott Ferguson, Executive Director of WTCA, and Carlos Ronderos, Regional Director for Latin America of WTCA, the license to operate in Nuevo Laredo and the flag that will represent the WTC in the city.
Nuevo Laredo is the WTC number 71 in North America and the number 13 in Mexico.
The Governor of the State thanked the directors of WTC for trusting Nuevo Laredo and Tamaulipas, as well as the businessman Jorge Acevedo, for his interest in making this project possible, which unites skills, talents, political will and resources.
"Here is the most important commercial crossing, not only of Mexico, but of all Latin America. This will allow to bring more investment, to be able to connect the big companies of the world and that can visualize the great potential that we have as a region", he said.
Mayor Enrique Rivas Cuéllar expressed that Nuevo Laredo it will be more competitive.

"At this moment Nuevo Laredo starts a new page in the development of the economy, the development of productivity and competitiveness in a global market", he said.

Scott Ferguson said it is a great satisfaction to see how cities are activated in economic terms when a WTC arrives, and a clear example of this is Nuevo Laredo.

"I appreciate the opportunity to be here today. One of the most exciting parts of my work is the opportunity to travel around the world and get to know the WTCA members", he said.

Carlos Ronderos said that Nuevo Laredo is number 56 in Latin America and represents great development opportunities for this border, which will undoubtedly support.

"Count on all of us to be a successful center and to benefit the development of the region, the city and good business for entrepreneurs in the region", he said during the ceremony.

The construction of the new business center, planned for a plot of more than 15 hectares, will require an investment close to 100 million dollars and would begin in the middle of the second half of 2019.
