NOIDA, INDIA - With an aim to create a roadmap for the urban & sustainable future of our nation, WTC Noida & VERBIND- its Trade Services Arm teamed up with Future Institute - a non-profit organization to inaugurate FUTURE TALKS - a Talk Series to bring some of the world’s most renowned urban thinkers and practitioners on an integrated platform. The first chapter of the Talk Series titled “The Next Learning Revolution” witnessed the presence of many distinguished intellects from diverse fields; with Mr. Naeem Akhtar- Hon’ble Minister of Education, J&K gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. Sonam Wangchuk- a renowned engineer-turned-education reformist from Ladakh as the Guest Speaker.

Vouching for more of such initiatives in the future; Ms. Khair Ull Nissa Sheikh- Executive Director of WTC Noida & Verbind said, “WTC Noida and VERBIND is committed towards growth & development of this nation and would be taking similar steps for fostering innovation and also bringing positive change in the education system so as to be a step ahead of its times."

Mr. Naeem Akhtar acknowledged WTC Noida & VERBIND for bringing out such Talk Series focusing on an environment centric urban transformation of our nation and extended his sincere support for the initiative. Emphasizing his keenness towards supporting such manoeuvre, he stated “We would work in synergy for such noble initiative towards a better and sustainable future which is the need of the hour."

Furthering the program; the Guest Speaker Mr. Wangchuk who has recently been awarded the prestigious ‘Rolex Awards for Enterprise 2016’ for his innovation of Ice Stupas, shared his journey and vision of transforming the conventional education system to an alternative learning approach. Announcing the initiation of his proposed Alternative University in Ladakh, Mr. Wangchuk said, “We are preparing to launch our most ambitious project till date – Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL), an alternative university for mountain development which will use our 25 years of experience of hands-on practical education at SECMOL school and scale it up for higher education at international level.” The Talk was followed by an interactive session with the participants deliberating their diverse and stimulating thoughts with Mr. Wangchuk.

Aptly named “Future Talks”, this prolific and noble initiative is a step towards creating a more responsible, resilient and livable future and transforming the potential of our nation. The event highlighted WTC Noida & VERBIND’s zest for contributing towards an evolving urbanization and the inception of Future Talks series reiterates its aim of tackling the urban problems of the world and fostering its approach of  -- A better today for A better tomorrow.
