World Trade Day Maharashtra Launched in Ahmednagar

World Trade Centre Mumbai organised its 2nd edition of World Trade Day Maharashtra in Ahmednagar on the theme ‘Enhancing Export Opportunities for MSMEs’ in association with Maharashtra Industry Trade and Investment Facilitation Cell (MAITRI), Ahmednagar Auto & Engineering Association (AAEA) and Association of Ahmednagar Manufacturing Industries (AAMI) on June 17, 2018 at NIMA’s Seminar Hall. It was part of the Centre’s week-long World Trade Day programme organised in different districts in Maharashtra.

Mr. K. M. Bhingare, Chairman, Ahmednagar Auto & Engineering Association (Ahmednagar Auto Cluster) said, “AAEA acts as a one-stop shop for solutions in collective bargaining of raw material procurement, besides, building a liaison between its members and government agencies, banks, etc.”.

Mr. D. K. Shivdas, Manager, District Industries Centre, Ahmednagar highlighted the policies for MSMEs aiming to implement, develop and monitor various schemes and also explained how it impart incentives for promotion of industries in Maharashtra.

Mr. Ravindra Awati, Associate President, Reliance Industries Ltd. said, “Encouraging MSMEs and guiding them in digitisation through a mobile-based platform, by bringing in digital icons and best practices is key to success for MSMEs”.

Mr. Sunil Govind Uttarwar, Associate Vice President – Manufacturing, Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd emphasised that manufacturing facilities should have advanced testing facilities to ensure quality of products, skilled technicians and quality control programmes and procedures to assure product quality.

Mr. Sudarshan Ingale, Chief Manager, Export Import Bank of India said, “The main products exported from Maharashtra are gems and jewellery; petrochemicals; readymade garments; cotton yarn; metal and metal products; agro-based products; engineering items; drugs and pharmaceuticals and plastic and plastic items.

Ms. Sunita Sindwani, Chief General Manager, Export Import Bank of India was also present on the occasion.

Mr. Mukesh Samtani, Assistant Director – EEPC Mumbai said, “In 2017-18, Indian engineering exports was US$76.2 billion. EU is India’s top trading partner.

Mr. Pradeep Singh Bharda, Executive Officer, EEPC Mumbai (India) said, “Colombia has become one of the main destinations for India’s exports from the Latin American region”.

Mr. Bharda opined, “India’s engineering export to Philippines has grown exponentially and invited Indian companies to participate in INDEE Philippines”.
