ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA - Two members of the WTCA Board of Directors â WTC Moscow Director General Mr. Vladimir Salamatov and WTC Taipei Chairman Mr. Francis Liang participated in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that took place in St. Petersburg on the 18-20 of June 2015. They spoke at the plenary session âInternational Trade: Globalization or Regionalization?â co-organized and supervised by WTC Moscow.
The participants discussed the significance of the newly-created regional blocsâ effect on the WTO, world trade and Russian exporters. In addition to that the FTA geographic balance, the future of world trade and key problems of the world trade system for 2015-2016 were discussed.
During the session Vladimir Salamatov presented an interactive analytical resource, dedicated to Russia's participation in international trade. The resource contains the most recent statistical data on the dynamics of import and export, commodity pattern and volume of foreign trade, the share of Russia's imports trade partners, as well as complete information on barriers to trade.
The WTC co-organized and supervised another session: âTechnology transfer: overcoming the barriersâ. In addition to that Vladimir Salamatov participated in a number of events on Shanghai Cooperation Organization including âThe SCO Business Forumâ; The SCO Member Countriesâ Business Council session and the Russian SME Forum âSmall Business â Hugh Possibilitiesâ
SPIEF is a leading international platform where leaders of growing economic powers meet to discuss key economic questions that Russia and the world face.
This year the Forumâs theme was: âTime to Act: Shared Paths to Stability and Growthâ. The Forum welcomed more than 1.5 thousand Russian business executives and 200 heads of international companies from 64 countries of the world.
The total disclosed amount of contracts, memorandums and agreements signed at SPIEF-2015 (205 in number) amounted to 293.4 billion rubles.
