SCO Business сouncil Board meeting at SPIEF 2015

WTC Moscow Director General, Chairman of the CCIRF Committee on Economic Integration Issues of SCO and CIS Member-Nations Mr. Vladimir Salamatov attended the SCO Business council Board meeting which was held in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The Chairman of the SCO Business council Board and of the national part of SCO Business Council, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCIRF) Mr. Sergey Katyrin in his opening speech pointed out that a strategic development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for the period until 2025 is of great importance (this issue will be discussed at the upcoming summit in Ufa). Eurasian economic union will have positive impact on the development of the SCO cooperation – meaning the perspectives of the integration of infrastructure projects, which are realized in the framework of SCO and the “Silk road”.
Among the speakers at the meeting there was the Executive secretary of the SCO Business council Mr. Sergey Kanavskiy, representatives of the Business council national parts, who reported on the results of the Council activities and expressed suggestions concerning directions of its further performance. The aforementioned results included projects on the development of the conference facilities and information portal for small and medium-sized businesses interregional cooperation, project on the development of a medical service centers register, etc.

Foreign participants commended the high quality of the events, organized by the Council. Moreover, within the meeting the Vice-president of the CCIRF Mr. Georgy Petrov and Executive secretary of the SCO Business council Mr. Sergey Kanavskiy presented their joint projects. All the participants expressed the need to continue development of the cooperation in the SCO, to increase the investments effectiveness, to assist in simplification of the visa regime and in improving the environment for entrepreneurs. It was highlighted as well that new forms of SCO members cooperation should be found in order to use the full range of the unique SCO potential for the benefit of all its Member-Nations.
