Strengthening cross-border cooperation to tackle cyber challenges

In a context of rising cyber threats and geopolitical tensions, cybersecurity has become a strategic priority for companies and European territories. This was the backdrop for the second edition of the Cross-Border Cybersecurity Tour, held in Saarbrücken, Germany the 17. March 2026 and bringing together companies, startups, researchers, experts, and public decision-makers from France, Germany, and Luxembourg.

Designed as a highly practical format, the event fostered cross-border dialogue between business, scientific, and institutional stakeholders. Participants shared concrete experiences, combined expertise, and explored new opportunities for cooperation and business development.

Hosted at East Side Fab , the program focused on key topics such as critical infrastructure protection, digital and energy sovereignty, cloud computing, NIS2 regulation, compliance automation, and the human factor in cybersecurity. Roundtable discussions provided hands-on insights into the challenges faced by companies and startups, highlighting cybersecurity as a key driver of competitiveness and innovation.

The day concluded with a networking session at Halle 4 , encouraging informal exchanges and the creation of lasting cross-border synergies.

Aimed at companies, startups, research players, and public decision-makers, the Cross-Border Cybersecurity Tour #2 helped participants anticipate cyber risks, better understand evolving regulations, and identify practical solutions tailored to market needs.

This second edition confirmed the strong interest from economic stakeholders in cross-border cybersecurity initiatives. Discussions led to the identification of concrete cooperation opportunities, strengthened connections between companies, startups, and experts, and highlighted shared challenges around compliance, digital resilience, and innovation. Several participants also expressed their intention to continue discussions beyond the event.

Building on the strong momentum of this edition, a new Cross-Border Cybersecurity Tour is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
