WTC Leeuwarden: How do you connect?

Dec 23, 2016

LEEUWARDEN, NETHERLANDS - Managing Director Evert Jan Schouwstra from WTC Leeuwarden visited with the Frisian Exportclub our member MPC Industries. A very interesting company with ditto CEO.

"How do you connect thirty countries, 18 nationalities, six European offices, two production sites and headquarters?" Kris Tirry of MPC Industries, told it during this networking event on 8 December, 2016.

His answer was: By people. Easier you cannot say it. Kris Tirry made out of a modest size MPC Industries an international supplying hose clamps manufacturer and decided five years ago it was time to do it differently. Crisis and a, for his feeling, stranding company were the reason. The result is a healthy and self-guiding company where decisions on strategy and salary are jointly made.

That democratization is quite possible proves the company, producer of 2 to 3 million hose clamps per month, of which 800 standard and specials in 2200 for the most diverse and demanding industries. The company motto is UNITE. Literally hose clamps and especially by the people.

This is the base of the company philosophy of Kris Tirry. His company philosophy UNITE is inspired by Brazilian Ricardo Semler, but clearly has his own twist to it so that it fits the company.

Tirry has followed his own path with MPC and knows after five years that the right choices were made in the learning process. MPC is healthy and people are enjoying themselves and talk about what has become emotionally their business. It has doubled the turnover of crisis year 2008, absenteeism and employee turnover dropped to zero. The result of democratization is impressive.
