WTC Leeuwarden - Frisian Export Carousel Kickoff

Feb 14, 2017

LEEUWARDEN, NETHERLANDS - On February 9th, 13 Frisian entrepreneurs and 50 students kicked off the 7th edition of the Frisian Export Carousel.

On this day the students, who paired up in groups of four, were introduced to the entrepreneurs. All participating entrepreneurs presented their company as well as the export question they are dealing with.

For six months, the students from the Universities of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden will support the entrepreneurs with the expansion of their export markets.

What is the Export Carousel offering participating entrepreneurs?

  1. Per team a great fit between company, country and students (e.g. if an entrepreneur wants to export to the Middle East, he is assigned with a student from Qatar)
  2. Work closely together with international students on your export policy plan (more hands and heads)
  3. Get information about new markets
  4. Network of companies with export expertise
  5. Learn from the experiences from former Export Carrousel participants
  6. Practical knowledge from external advisors

On top of that, the students come from thirteen different countries. They bring along knowledge about their culture, language and network.

WTC Leeuwarden is an official partner since the start of this program. They bring in their knowledge and experience during the five sessions. Their export coaches assist the teams in this process and the entrepreneurs can participate after the Export Carousel in the coaching program.

The Export Carousel is a close collaboration between the province of Friesland, WTC Leeuwarden, the Frisian export association, local entrepreneurs, Stenden and the NHL University of Applied Sciences. A great combination of students, entrepreneurs and government. GJ Support organizes and coordinates the Export Carousel.
