Nov 17, 2022

World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) hosted its first World Diabetes Day for its employees, with the hope of further raising awareness of this disease. Over 300 employees from all levels encompassing both operation and management participated in this event. There was a Zumba session by Zin Rina as well as a Health Talk session by Dr. Kavita, Health Officer, held at the Tun Hussein Onn Hall in WTCKL.

World Diabetes Day is a primarily a global awareness campaign that unites millions of people around the globe to raise awareness of the chronic disease. It is held every year on November 14 and The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the theme for 2022 to be “Access to Diabetes Education” in response to growing concerns about the health and economic threat posed by diabetes. To commemorate this day, WTCKL has made the initiative to raise awareness of diabetes as a national and global public health issue and what needs to be done, collectively and individually, for better prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition.

“This is one of the ways we give back to the community, which we care about. I send my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone who helped make this event a success.” said Dato’ Sri Dr Irmohizam bin Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of WTCKL and Chairman of Convention & Exhibition (C&E) Member Advisory Council (MAC) World Trade Center Association (WTCA).
