Art at WTC Jakarta: A Contemporary Glimpse into Ireland’s Cultural LandscapeÂ
Jakarta, Indonesia - As part of the Art at WTC program, WTC Jakarta is proud to collaborate with the Embassy of Ireland in Indonesia to present Ireland’s Eye 2025 art exhibition. In this edition, Ireland’s Eye 2025 casts a searching gaze over contemporary Ireland, tracing the fluid and intersecting identities that shape its social and cultural topography. This exhibition brings together six Irish artists—Isobel McCarthy, Olivia Normile, Mary Sullivan, Aaron Sunderland Carey, and Electronic Sheep (Brenda Aherne and Helen Delany).Â
The title reflects dual perspectives—viewing through the lens of both insider and outsider, native and observer. It also alludes to Ireland’s Eye, the uninhabited island off the coast of Dublin, historically a place of refuge and quiet contemplation, as well as a metaphor for the ‘eye’ that observes and interprets.Â
The opening reception took place on 17th March 2025 at WTC Jakarta and was attended by distinguished guests from the diplomatic and business communities. The exhibition is open to the public and will be on display at the WTC 2 lobby area until 11th April 2025 .Â
