Honouring the Halifax G7 Summit 20 Years Later

Jun 17, 2015

HALIFAX, CANADA - WTC Halifax is proud to honour 20 years since Halifax, Nova Scotia hosted the 21st G7 Summit. In June 1995, Halifax welcomed leaders from major nations, including Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Italy and France, as well as representation from the Russian Federation and European Union. Hosting the 21st Summit helped to position Halifax as an attractive conference destination, and opened the door to significant economic and business opportunities for the province.

The long-term impact of the Summit is visible today, and WTC Halifax has had the pleasure of hosting many prestigious congresses and events since then. Now, a new state-of-the-art convention centre is being built for Halifax. Opening in 2017, the new convention centre will ensure that WTC Halifax continues to play a crucial role in attracting major international conferences and events to Nova Scotia.
