In the last week of February, World Trade Center Dublin partnered with the World Trade Center Leeuwarden in welcoming to Dublin a business delegation from the Netherlands. World Trade Center Dublin aided World Trade Center Leeuwarden by setting up two business meetings for a business discovery tour of 20 owner-managers of a range of businesses from the city of Leeuwarden. World Trade Center Dublin arranged for the participants to visit the Guinness Enterprise Centre, a co-working space which was recently named ‘world’s top business incubator.’ The participants enjoyed a reception and presentation from the Centre Manager and address by the Dutch Ambassador, followed by a networking session with World Trade Center Dublin members. The following day, participants were able to visit Salesforce and received an address from the Vice President there.

After the successful trade mission, Jan Jacob Hilberdink- who works with WTC Leeuwarden and ITS - said of the World Trade Center Dublin:

“Herewith I want to express my gratitude for all the work done by your organization. You sincerely contributed to the success of our business discovery tour. I look back on very informative and meaningful meetings that we could not have achieved without your commitment.”

Due to the successful working relationship forged between the two World Trade Centers via this trade discovery tour, World Trade Center Dublin and the World Trade Center Leeuwarden have since joined together in a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement was forged as a commitment between the two World Trade Centers to work together to help members on both sides find beneficial business-to-business opportunities in Ireland and the Netherlands. The agreement also set a target number of trade missions to be conducted between Ireland and the Netherlands each year moving forward.

World Trade Center Dublin is grateful for the new relationship that has been built with our affiliates in Leeuwarden and look forward to working with them more in the future.
