World Trade Centers Association executive vice president Rob Avon lol (Robert J • Frueh) speech for the forum to discuss with you how to promote the brand of the World Trade Center, the World Trade Center to promote investment and trade and urban development.
As an international economic and trade organization with a membership of more than 330 cities and 750,000 enterprises, the WTC played an important role in world economic and trade interactions through its development patter featuring “service + facilities + global network”. The character that one city harbored once WTC which connected the global network made the WTC reputed and exert great influence in urban development. Different WTCs had tailored development patters in light of local conditions. Only though taking into account local conditions could the WTC promote investment trade and urban development.

He also stressed that every WTC should work on the basis of service, facilities and the global network. The core value of the WTC was reciprocity, namely every corporate member of a WTC could be a member of any other WTC, and he/she was entitled to equal member-only services in every WTC. This principle greatly helped local members open up markets, and substantially increased services provided by the WTC to its members.
Mr. Robert J. Frueh said any WTC member from Taipei, New York or any other city would become a member of Chongqing WTC if it went to Chongqing to operate its business, and would be entitled to member treatment as when it was in Taipei and New York. He said the WTC was a large international platform. Holding the forum here meant carrying forward the brand the the WTC in Western China, particularly in the fast-growing Chongqing.

Chongqing World Trade Center as an crucially important WTC member in Western China, Chongqing was the ideal destination for investors. The WTC’s development needed the support of China and Western China, and Chongqing’s development needed the support of the WTC. Hence it was a mutually reinforcing economic and trade mix and an excellent international platform.

Mr. Wu chai-lin, chairman of the Taiwan Council for Industrial and Commercial Development, delivered a speech at the forum. He said that Chongqing had a lot of development opportunities and remained a hot spot for investment for Taiwan-funded enterprises because of its potential advantages. Chongqing strengthened its development of modern services and innovative industry in recent years in addition to the excellent heavy industry technical level basis. As an only inland duty-free port under the policy support of the central government, Chongqing has a more preferential tax rate even than the coastal economic zone, providing a great incentive for it to bring in modern service industry. As a representative of Taiwan's industrial and commercial enterprises, the institute led by leaders of Knovia Group, Delta-Cimic and other enterprises not only came to sign a cooperation agreement with Chongqing World Trade Center, but also made an inspection tour to Chongqing with a purpose. The institute will promote cross-strait economic and trade exchanges and the development of modern service industry in Chongqing through the platform of Chongqing World Trade. Mr. Wu believed that only when actual situation of each city was taken into consideration to serve them can World Trade Center better promote investment, trade and urban development.

They carried our dialogues on how the WTC promotes international exchanges and cooperation, particularly exchanges and cooperation between China and the rest of the world. The dialogues also covered how the WTC connects regions and enterprises, and the topic of a WTC that integrates global networks, services and facilities. They put forward an idea that the WTC that integrates global networks, services and facilities has become one of the most dynamic resources of global trade investment in an increasingly competitive international environment. Every WTC should set up an operation modal in line with local conditions. Chongqing is in a period of rapid growth, and it needs a platform for resources, capital and local experience to attract foreign investment.

Finally, Li Shirong concluded her remarks in which she proposed that the operating model of Chongqing World Trade Center was established based on Chongqing's demand. The Center will serve as a platform for the integration of capital, ERP, legal advisory services, human resources and local experience resources and serve local enterprises and enterprises from other places to promote Chongqing's prosperity and development.
