Inspired by WTC’s symbolization as regional economic prosperity and WTCA’s mission of one-stop shop of international trade services under one roof, the CCCI became a member of World Trade Centers Association in 2004, and started to conceptualize WTC facility immediately. Today’s inauguration was the fulfillment of a dream of a landmark of commerce for the city and country. The 21-story WTC Chittagong building is currently the tallest one in the city which consists of 5-star hotel, international standard convention hall, conference center, temporary & permanent exhibition hall, world trade center club, media center, shopping mall and office space.

Scott Wang, VP Asia Pacific of WTCA attended the ceremony. “We congratulate CCCI for its tremendous efforts to build such a magnificent WTC building to support international trade and local economic development. As the first member of WTCA in Bangladesh and the only chamber in the city, CCCI has played a vital role in trade promotion and facilitation with high-quality trade services programs. We firmly believe that the addition of the landmark WTC facility will greatly enhance CCCI’s capacity to serve the business community, and further fulfill the mission of WTCA to grow global trade and foster regional prosperity.” Wang said.
