WTCB mobilizes Business Delegation to Indonesia

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar mobilized a business delegation of seven members from Bhubaneswar, Odisha to Jakarta, Indonesia as a part of the Center’s International Trade Promotion initiatives with an objective to promote bilateral trade. The business members attended the Trade Expo organized by the Ministry of Trade, Republic of Indonesia with the active coordination by Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), Chennai.

The business delegation included business members from the field of Textile, Handloom, Fashion Jewellery, Accessories, Handicraft products, Agri based products and Spices, Machinery equipment’s including building materials, home furnishings and furniture etc with an objective to enhance the visibility and outreach of the unique potential products from the State of Odisha.

The first day of four-day schedule kicked off with a visit to the Polaris Furniture Factory for the delegates. The visit intended to explore collaborative business opportunities and helped the delegates gain insights on the potential of furniture and wood products in the Indonesian market, the unique designs and manufacturing process.

Subsequently day two witnessed business matchmaking session, product display and networking lunch at Hotel Ritz Carlton, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta on 8th October 2024 where the delegates made a brief presentation about their businesses to the key officials of the Indian Embassy at Jakarta, Indonesia. The program was followed by a focused meeting with the key office bearers of Embassy and other business members from Indonesia. During the program Mrs. Jyoshna Das, Convenor of the WTC Bhubaneswar Women Entrepreneurs Forum also made a detailed presentation about the Center and it’s trade promotion initiatives.

In addition to that, a networking dinner was hosted by the Embassy with local industry bodies and prospective business houses.

On day three, the delegates attended the Trade Expo Indonesia and explored the exhibition where they comprehended the various value-added products from Indonesia which are not just unique but hold high prospects in the international market. A business matchmaking session was also organized by Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Trade, Kadin Chamber of Commerce and other government bodies of Indonesia. The members also learnt about various techniques, methods and technologies used for manufacturing of various products could be incorporated in their own businesses.

Day four of the program witnessed one to one business matchmaking sessions and explored the expo extensively.

The delegates from World Trade Center Bhubaneswar greatly benefitted from the networking sessions which were insightful and fruitful. The delegates showed willingness to explore business opportunities in various potential sectors. Further, they gained knowledge on the bilateral business prospects between Indonesia and India which could thus help in paving way for trade between the both the regions and acted as a big morale booster for the focus MSME sectors to think of trading beyond their regional boundaries making the endeavor a grand success.
