WTC Bhubaneswar participates in WTCA APAC Meet

World Trade Centers Association New York called for the Asia Pacific Regional Meeting 2021. World Trade Center Bhubaneswar participated in the meeting to brief out the Center’s activities in the WTC updates section.

Ms. Nimeshika Natarajan, Assistant Director, WTC Bhubaneswar made a detailed presentation on how during the wake of COVID 19, the center has successfully organized more than 50 virtual sessions which primarily focused on providing Skill Development & Capacity Building assistance to its business members and also help them identify the different channels for creating possible market linkages through digital platforms & social media network.

She further demonstrate how the prime focus has been to provide assistance to the local MSMEs enabling them to sustain through the challenging period and help them explore new ways to connect to the global markets as well as develop business models which are technology driven. Effective guidance and facilitation were offered to the business members for them to execute appropriate reengineering and reinvention in the business processes.

She highlighted that WTC Bhubaneswar has facilitated free cloud space for its members for creation of their business page and enhance the visibility of their products and services and also explained about how the sectorial think tanks of the Center have been actively involved in policy advocacy with the State Government of Odisha for their relevant sectors which aimed at seeking assistance to overcome some of the major operational and financial bottle necks. The focus sectors have been Agriculture & Food Processing, Infrastructure, Information Technology, Tourism & Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs. She explained how the Center has been actively working on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN for which the Center was also nominated for the WTCA Championship Award

She further shared that mentoring & awareness programs were also held on mental health, hygiene and wellness with respect to COVID 19 to keep up the strong spirits of the business fraternity.

Ms. Natarajan, also participated in the break through session on Trade Services to discuss the pre and post COVID differences in the services offered and how the same could be further developed in order to facilitate international trade.
