WAVE-Exhibition exclusively by Women Entrepreneurs

World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar under its Women Forum organized WAVE [Women as Vibrant Entrepreneurs] - An exhibition exclusively by Women Entrepreneurs from 13- 15 September 2019 at Bhubaneswar.

WAVE is a first of its kind unique initiative which exclusively included women entrepreneurs giving them scope for showcasing their capacities in various fields of entrepreneurship. It provided a platform for the entrepreneurs to bring the best of their products and services to the open market and there by enhance the scope for effective branding and marketing of their products. 

The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Bhubaneswar. Smt Saranagi in her address lauded the initiative and welcomed the women who choose entrepreneurship. “The women of today are not only entrepreneurial in their spirit but are the future of the industrial economy of the nation. It is very encouraging to see so many women come out of their native roles to explore their potentials to add value to the society” she said. She encouraged more of such initiatives to be taken for effective handholding and enhanced visibility to the efforts of the women entrepreneurs. 

Sri. P.J. Nath, IAS, Director, Directorate of Industries, Government of Odisha, in his address welcomed the initiative and emphasised on the growth of women in the field of entrepreneurship. He advocated for developing the skill sets on the Self Help Groups of the state enabling them to enter the gamut of Micro enterprises thereby making them eligible for benefiting out of the various schemes of made available for MSMEs by both the Central & State Government. He also announced that with due importance being given to the facilitate women entrepreneurs the State Government has earmarked a patch of land in the Industrial Estates to be reserved for them.
Sri. B.B. Jena, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhubaneswar is his address extended all support to the women entrepreneurs in enhancing their design and skill development techniques. He deliberated that the women entrepreneurs need to have an idea of the global market and try to match their products with the market demand. 

Dr. Aupam Gayen, Branch Head, National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Government of India, Bhubaneswar, in his address spoke about the various hand holding schemes of NSIC for the MSME entrepreneurs. He invited all the entrepreneurs to avail the benefits and learn more about the schemes from the NSIC help desk set up in the exhibition.

Earlier Ms. Nimeshika Natarajan, Assistant Director, World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in her address welcomed the dignitaries and outlined the objective of the exhibition.
