Interactive Session on Women Entrepreneurship

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar in association with MSME DI, Cuttack under Ministry of MSME Government of India, Batoi Systems Pvt. Ltd., State Bank of India, Bhubaneswar Circle and Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan organized an Interactive Session for Women Entrepreneurs. The program aimed at providing an effective platform for the Women Entrepreneurs to upfront speak about their product / services to a captive audience of large scale prospective clients such as Public Sector Units & Corporates. It also provided scope for them to interact and gain understanding on various schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India and schemes for availing finance from Banks & Digital Enablement.

Dr. Rina Routray, Chairperson, Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan in her address spoke about the role of women in business sphere. She spoke about various opportunities developed for women due to political, social and economic changes and how Women are accepted and recognized in today’s corporate world. She highlighted the fact that women steadily achieving remarkable success, self-economic independence and generating employment opportunities for others whereas maintaining a balance in their social and personal life.

Mr. P.K Gupta, IEDS, Joint Director & HOO, MSME-DI Cuttack in his address spoke about objective of the session and encouraged the women entrepreneurs to interact with the participating Public Sector Undertakings.  

Mr. Patitapaban Parida, AGM-SME, State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Bhubaneswar delivered a detailed presentation on the banking schemes and assistance available for the Women Entrepreneurs. He also deliberated on export opportunities in various sectors.

Ms. Arundhati Sudhir, Evangelist, Media & Innovation, Batoi Systems Pvt Ltd gave a presentation about the scope for the Start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs in the era of digitalization. She also spoke about the free cloud space and digital media assistance Batoi Systems Pvt Ltd offers to all the members of WTC Bhubaneswar.

Mr. Mihir Chandra, GM (MM), MCL, Mr. Naresh Kumar, Chief Material Manager, East Coast Railway, Mr.  H S Santra, DGM IOCL and Ms. Sumita Sahay, GM (MM) NALCO presented about their respective company policies, various procurement channels and list of products they procure from the MSMEs, specifically from the Women led businesses.

Ms. Nitisha Mann, IES, Deputy Director, MSME-DI Cuttack in her address presented about the schemes available under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India for women entrepreneurs, the significance of Udyam Registration and explained about the E-Marketplace platform GEM.

Mr. Sampad Nayak, Assistant Manager, DIC Bhubaneswar in his address spoke about scope of investment and growth for various sectors in Khordha district. He highlighted fiscal incentives for MSMEs in Industrial Policy Resolution 2015 and Odisha MSME Development Policy 2016. He spoke about various subsidies and grants Women in entrepreneurship can avail.

Earlier in the session, the participants introduced themselves and spoke in brief about their products and services.

The session was convened by Mrs. Jyoshna Das, Convenor to the Women Forum of WTC Bhubaneswar.

The session witnessed a highly interactive Q&A session.
