CSR Orientation Program

World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in association with South Eastern Region Pipeline, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. organized an orientation program on Corporate Social Responsibility for the employees of the pipeline division of the corporation here in the office of SERPL, Bhubaneswar on November 27, 2018. 

The program witnessed deliberations by eminent speakers from various domains of Corporate Social Responsibility. The program was organized with an objective to improvise the employees of SERPL on the various implementation strategies which could be adopted for different CSR projects. 

Mr Ankit Malani, Analyst, CSR & Industry Partnerships from National Skill Development Corporation [NSDC] presented on Skill Development & Livelihood Models of NSDC. He made a detailed presentation on the importance of Skill Development & the role of NSDC. He set the context on the Skill Ecosystem in India, enhancing livelihoods – entrepreneurship. 

Mr. Sabyasachi from Stem Learning, a Social Enterprise which is actively involved in setting up of mini science centres in rural area with an objective to enhance the learning experience of students by a practical learning approach further made his deliberations. He discussed about the specific models designed by the organization to give practical knowledge of scientific laws that are covered by the schools and colleges to the students from rural areas. 

Mr P K Panigrahi represented Hindustan Latex Ltd Lifecare [HLL Lifecare]. He made a live demonstration of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine & Incinerator. He gave an insight to the participants on the operation of the machine and its utility.
Dr P Srinivasa Rao, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Medskills, deliberated on Enhancing rural healthcare ecosystem. He highlighted the intricacies of healthcare in relevance to skill development and discussed about the resource requirements. He also accentuated on the possible collaboration with IOCL while briefing about their presence of Apollo Medskills. 

Mrs. Sumita Sindhi, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur spoke about improving agriculture ecosystem through CSR. She discussed and deliberated on the challenges faced by the farmers at the grass root level and advocated for the need and relevance of CSR interventions in the agriculture sector. 

Mr. Gaurav Jain, Assistant Manager- CSR SERPL presented and informed the participants about the various CSR and Swachhata interventions taken by the organization in the Financial Year 2018-19 and also showcased the road map set for future.

Mrs. Asha Sarangi, Assistant Manager, WTC Bhubaneswar delivered the concluding remarks.
