The 4th BICCC Held to Advocate OBOR Initiative

Organized by WTC Beijing (CCPIT Beijing) and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BICC),the 4th Beijing International Conference of Friendly Chambers of Commerce (BICCC) was held in Beijing from June 7th to 8th. With the theme of “cooperation, development and win-win outcome”, this year’s conference gathered 51 leaders of the chambers of commerce form Romania, Malaysia, Nepal, Brazil, France, Poland, Iran and Kazakhstan etc. and more than 400 representatives of embassies and enterprises at home and abroad were presented. Mr. Scott Wang, Vice President, Asia Pacific of WTCA participated in the program for the third consecutive time.

“At time of global economic imbalances and the growing hostility towards globalization in the some parts of world,” said Mr. Chen, Vice Chairman of CCPIT National Council “the role of chambers of commerce in connecting enterprises with governments, organizations or other cooperative agencies beyond the boundaries are more important than ever.”

The 2-day program featured dialogues, seminars, round table meetings and business promotion events with topics ranging from the challenges posed by information technology and cross-boarder e-commerce, legal service of global trade to the intellectual property protection.

The program was wrapped up with an initiative to launch “Belt and Road” Alliance Of Municipal Chambers of Commerce to expand cooperation, integrate the strengths and resources of chambers in cities, regions and countries around the world and create a new platform for SMEs to seek international cooperation under the OBOR initiative.

Initiated in 2011, BICCC, a biannual event organized by WTC Beijing (CCPIT Beijing) and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BICC), services as a platform for chambers of commerce to exchange best experiences in serving member enterprises and share viewpoints on the current global economic climate and business situation. The 5th BICCC will be held in 2019 in Beijing.
