1st CONGRESS ON ECONOMY AND JUSTICE

Ineffective justice is a real barrier to investment and has direct consequences for the proper functioning of a country's economy. Improving the Administration of Justice to expedite and bring it closer to the citizen would have to be a shared commitment by all legal operators and by all the business entities and civil society. Currently, according to data from a study of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona, only 21.8% of the amount of the judgments executed in Catalonia is recovered and the average term of the process to recover the amounts is of 1 year and 9 months. A worrying situation, which also occurs in the rest of Spain.

To deal with this issue in depth and find possible solutions, the General Council of Procurators of Spain, the Consell de Col·legis de Procuradors de Catalunya and the College of Attorneys of Barcelona organize the 1st Congress on Economy and Justice.

The Congress is the first meeting specialized in civil execution and will include several conferences and round tables. The speakers, recognized experts in the field at national and international level, will propose solutions, some of which could be incorporated into a future reform of the Civil Procedure Law and could involve the establishment of new powers in the area of enforcement for prosecutors.
