Communications & Member Relations Intern

The Communications & Member Relations (CMR) team crafts and executes organizational strategy for both communications and member relations/services. They handle the requests and needs of the 300-plus current WTCA Members globally, including:
• Encouraging and empowering Members to engage with each other, and the Association
• Supporting and executing against communications objectives to increase WTCA’s global visibility and foster stronger relationships among Members
• Leading the license acquisition process for potential members and clients that interested in joining the WTCA from inception to membership completion

This internship provides an ideal opportunity to learn about the inner workings of an international non-profit organization, gives working experience in the International Business and Trade industries, and offers exposure to different cultures around the world.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assist in event planning – research for the annual spring and fall Member events
• Special projects as needed (i.e. helping with/during annual events/seminars)
• Assist with archiving procedures (both digital and hard copy documents)
• Assist with research (i.e. geographical/economical/political factors of cities/countries of new applicants; web presence/brand compliance of new applicants and existing members)
• Assist in analyzing Member data to find patterns of engagement and non-engagement between regions

• Strong English-language communication skills (written and oral)
• Excellent computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Desire to learn and be a team player
• Ability to deliver accurate, fast and creative results in a fast-changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and honor a brand through all activities and touchpoints
• Eye for design, organization, and placement of appropriate content for members and potential licensees
• Detail-oriented, able to learn quickly and work independently
