The 17th Modern Railways 2025

The much-awaited Asian railroad industry event - the 17th MODERN RAILWAYS 2025 is scheduled to be held on July 8-10, 2025 at the China National Convention Center and the National Railway Track Test Center in Beijing, China! The 12th World High-Speed Railway Conference will also be held simultaneously!

MODERN RAILWAYS: An Eye-catching Railway Exhibition

Since its debut in 1992, MODERN RAILWAYS has successfully hosted 16 sessions, evolving into the largest railway exhibition in Asia with significant international influence. This biennial event has become the preferred choice for both Chinese and foreign exhibitors participating in rail transit exhibitions in China.

The exhibition focuses on hot spots, development trends, cutting-edge technologies and equipment of railway industry in such fields as rolling stock, track engineering, communication & signaling, information technology / digitalization, and operation & management, building a platform for international exchange and cooperation.

Authoritative industry position

MODERN RAILWAYS is the only large-scale international railway industry exhibition supported by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (CR). It is jointly hosted by China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited (CARS), the strategic scientific and technological force of the Chinese railway sector and the only multi-technology and multi-specialty comprehensive research institution of the industry, and China World Trade Center Co., Ltd. There will be direct communication with officials from CR and its affiliated regional group companies, along with decision-makers from top industry enterprises, and direct interaction with experts, scholars, and industry elites from global railways.

Extensive social influence

MODERN RAILWAYS has garnered extensive coverage from prominent state media outlets like People’s Daily , Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, Economic Daily , and China Daily . It has also captured the interest of popular mass media platforms like Sina, NetEase, Sohu, Tencent, and Jinri Toutiao, along with authoritative industry media like People’s Railway Daily , Chinese Railways magazine, and Chinese Railway’s Weixin official account.

High-end international event

The exhibition will be held in parallel with the 12th WCHSR. The World Congress on High-Speed Rail (WCHSR) is an UIC event collaboratively held by railway companies of its member countries every 2-3 years. The Congress has been successfully convened for eleven times since its first edition in 1992, and now is renowned worldwide as the most prominent and a large-scale global event on high-speed rail. The 12th WCHSR is set to return to China following the first Chinese edition 15 years ago (with the 7th WCHSR taking place in Beijing in 2010).

Previous Show Review

MODERN RAILWAYS 2023 was held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing from November 14 to 16, 2023. Nearly 400 enterprises from 15 countries and regions including China, the United States, Japan, Austria, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong (China) participated in the exhibition with their latest technologies and products. The event attracted visitors from 28 countries and regions, with a total of 60,000 attendees at the venue.

The 4th World Railway Cooperation & Development Forum was successfully organised by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (CR) and International Union of Railways (UIC). Eleven side events were held by the China Railway Society, International Railway Research Board (IRRB), China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited, and other organisations. High-level representatives from relevant ministries and commissions of China, international organisations such as UIC, railway companies from Belt and Road countries, as well as Chinese and foreign exhibitors, attended the Forum. During the event, 112 Chinese and foreign guests delivered speeches, attracting nearly 5,000 attendees in total.
